Tomeka Jackson is a Library Resident at Clemson University Libraries. Before her residency, she worked at Kennesaw State University as a Cataloging and Metadata Assistant from 2018-2022. In addition, she has held positions at the Smyrna Public Library in Smyrna, Ga., and the Cobb County Public Library in Marietta, Ga. She also worked as a project archivist for the Atlanta History Center and volunteered at the Delta Flight Museum in Hapeville, Ga. She was named an Emerging Leader by the American Library Association in 2022. Jackson earned her master's in library and information Science from the University of South Carolina, a Master’s in Heritage Preservation, and a bachelor's in history from Georgia State University
Research interests include: EDI practices and procedures in Cataloging and Metadata , Inclusive description in archives , and the use of AI tools in LC subject headings
